Health & Wellbeing Awareness

At the Te Maeva Nui O Aotearoa NZ Charitable Trust, we believe that caring for our people is just as important as celebrating our culture. Alongside the preparation for the Te Maeva Nui NZ Cultural Festival, we are committed to promoting the health and wellbeing of every participant.

Our wellbeing initiatives encourage teams to create safe, supportive, and inclusive environments where every member feels valued, respected, and heard. As part of this commitment, each team appoints a dedicated Wellbeing Officer who serves as a trusted point of contact for performers, volunteers, and team members who may need support or someone to talk to throughout the festival journey.

By embedding wellbeing into our practice, we foster a culture of care, compassion, and accountability. We encourage open conversations around mental health, promote positive wellbeing practices, and remind our teams that seeking support is a sign of strength.

Our goal is to ensure that every individual enjoys a positive cultural experience — one that nurtures not only their passion for Cook Islands culture but also their emotional, mental, and social wellbeing.

Strong people. Strong culture. Strong future.
